Calling the Cashiers mountains home for more than 40 years, Joanne joined the company in July 2020 after receiving her real estate license. Her roots were planted here generations ago, when her grandparents purchased a quaint cabin on Mill Creek, near a waterfall that flows into beautiful Lake Glenville. Joanne has extensive knowledge of the Cashiers-Highlands plateau, and is invested in the area.
Joanne’s professional designations include Luxury Home Marketing Specialist (CLHMS) with GUILD™ recognition. Prior to her real estate career, she owned a successful property management business for 20 years — managing homes exclusively in Wade Hampton Golf Club, Lonesome Valley, County Club of Sapphire Valley, Glenshore, and Whisper Lake.
She has supported several Cashiers-area organizations and youth programs through volunteer service, including Fishes & Loaves Food Pantry. She has also been active with mission work through local churches.
Joanne and her husband Glen are parents to three grown children — Kayley, Tarah and Collin — and two boxer dogs, Auggie and Lilli. In her spare time, she enjoys strolling in the fresh mountain air with her grandson, and making memories in the Village of Cashiers.

What is your favorite thing about the Cashiers area?
The unity and support within our local community. The willingness to help one another. Cashiers is a special place that gives life to special relationships!
What is one of your favorite Cashiers-area memories or traditions?
I have always loved Grooving on the Green, where you can connect with other members of the community! The Christmas parade is also another time to connect with a lot of people! A wonderful memory of mine is every year, my family goes out to a local Christmas tree farm, walk for what seems like forever, tag the tree we want, cut it down, and haul it home! We actually cut the tree ourselves and my husband or son drags the tree and loads it on our truck. My husband puts lights on and then we all decorate the tree together. Unwrapping every special ornament, some generations old and some new!
Of what moment in your real estate career are you most proud?
I have worked with several high-net-worth business owners and entrepreneurs. In the past, when I had my property management/Concierge business I would tailor services to the client’s individual needs. I can connect, and engage with this clientele without overstepping boundaries or making it awkward or seem weird just because they are in the spotlight or well-known. After all, they are humans like you and I, and just want to be treated like that.
