Beth Townsend is a Partner/Owner of McKee Properties and a Vice President of the company. She ranks consistently as a leading Realtor on the Highlands-Cashiers plateau and in 2015 and 2016 she was the top sales broker in Cashiers.
Beth has played a major role in the history of McKee Properties with involvement in many of the late A. William McKee’s development projects, including Cedar Creek Racquet Club, Snowbird community, and as a land planner for the residential side of the award- winning Tom Fazio golf course, the Wade Hampton Golf Club.
As a founder with William McKee and his sister Ann McKee Austin of McKee Properties, Beth’s focus has been on large acreage development parcels, historic estates and homes in the area’s finest private communities.
A career highlight was her five year involvement with family landowners who assembled specialists to create a conservation easement protecting over 600 acres of land close to the center of Cashiers. Portions of the adjoining 400 +/- acres have been successfully marketed and sold through Beth.
Born and raised in Sarasota, Florida, Beth spent summers and holidays beginning in the 1970s at her family’s High Hampton home in Cashiers. After earning a Landscape Architecture degree from the University of Florida and becoming licensed in Florida and North Carolina, she moved to a historic farm in Sapphire as a full time resident in 1985. When not at the office, Beth is often walking in the woods with her dogs, working on her farm or entertaining friends. She also enjoys cooking, sewing, painting and reading.
